Background
During the last days of june, 1944, the Soviet union launched a massive attack against Finland. The goal was to get the country to surrender. In Carelia, between the Bay of Finland and the Ladoga sea, the finnish, with the help of the germans and swedish voulantairs, managed to hold the communist threat at bay. The Battle of Ihantala is the greatest battle in modern Nordic history and is the largest battle fought in these countries during world war 2. This map is dedicated to the memory of those that fought in this battle.
This is an assult map. The russians attack while the germans defend. Germans start with five control points.
The map was created and visualized by zara5ustra from BF1942 clan [SemperFi]. Beta testing was done with the help of the [SemperFi] clan members.
