BattleField Destrucktion v.5 (BFD .5) [Minimod]

I suggest setting your video settings to low, and using %50 bots when playing solo the first time trying the mod.

This mod might flex your machine since it increases the ammount of effects. Its best to try it with few bots, and low graphics settings so as not to destroy your framerate. Vehicles and Characters move at enhanced speeds as well. This has not been tested with any Multiplayer modes by the mod author.

I did not get a chance to add some interesting recent suggestions because I had to leave for travel again on short notice. Sorry, but I will try to implement them when I return from my travel.

  • Installation -

(Using winzip or other utility)
Unzip BFD 05 to a temporary directory and the paste the BFDestrucktion folder to the mod directory for BF:V.

REMEMBER! MAKE SURE YOU PUT THE RIGHT FOLDER IN THE MOD FOLDER, or it won't work. Also don't forget to 'activate' it from the custom game list in the options menu.

  • Removal -

Delete BFDestrucktion Folder from the mod directory within the Battlefield Vietnam program folder.

Updates in v0.5

A BFD v.5 compatible MAP PACK with basic bots has been released to www.bfv.filefront.com without this map pack you cannot use the custom motorcycle vehicle.

You cannot see the nametags of your friendlies when they are controlling a vehicle unless you look strait down.

US Mortar Engineer bots now use the M19 pistol as their main weapon.

US Mortar Engineers can build sandbag emplacements. They can pick them up again by pressing 'G'. The M14 has been removed from sandbag engineer kits.

NVA/Vietcong Bunker/Shovel Engineer can build a bunker that has a built-in MG position. The engineer can take the bunker later by pressing 'G'

M46 now fires Mini-Nukes. A miniature version of the Corsair nuke.

US has engineers dirtbike available in custom BFD maps.
(BFD MAP PACK SEPERATE)

Dirtbike has machineguns (primary) and smoke bombs (secondary).

You can now airlift the dirtbike and SAM trucks.

Chinook has a dropping rear gate. Passenger in position 5 can use the up and down keys to open the rear gate.

Chinook exit locations are more realistic. Pilots exit inside of the chopper and must jump out the back hatch.

Any crew will be trapped inside the chinook unless the rear hatch is opened. (also helps to discourage solo pilots since its harder to survive a fall)

US blowtorch in engineer kits are now replaced with a portable Emplaced MG Weapon. Sorry, I personally found the blowtorch weapon a bit useless.

Each MG engineer can place 2 Emplaced MG's and they can also pick them up later by pressing 'G'. ( so you can loan one to a friend/bot to use :)

Flare gun now causes direct damage, and can be lethal.
(preview of Flare damage is flaredeath.gif -> just drop into a browser.)

Flare gun now has a much brighter and larger flare effect.

Aircraft Pilot seats now eject you above the plane.

Added Co-Pilot to the Phantom and Corsair.

Phantom Co-Pilot fires Napalm, Pilot now carpet fires Agent-O bombs.

Corsair Pilot can drop a single but devestating Nuke. Co-Pilot can drop standard bombs and also has autocannons.

Fixed vehicle network files in new weapons for future online play.

Fixed ANNOYING looping issue with napalm bombs.

Kit weapon names have been fixed. They displayed the wrong weapon name before.

Handweapons firing AA rounds have a more drastic deviance when firing. Makes it harder to hit targets from a distance.

Added serverInfo icon.

  • Fixed thrown melee damage weapons are now lethal.

  • Smarter AI for US heli and NVA CARGO. Bots now fire from gunner positions. Sometimes they still will not shoot, I don't know why.

  • Mi8 Cargo Co-Pilot with grenade launcher added.

  • Screams and taunts when NV and VC throw their melee weapons (Plantation Knife, Machette) with secondary fire.

  • Thrown NV Melee weapons will stick into objects.

  • Fixed bouncing bug in flamethrower for NV rocket kit. Much more lethal now.

  • Dummy Bomb anti-personnal booby trap added to NV/VC engineer kit.

  • Plant Bombs added to some NV/VC assault and sniper kits.

  • Added stationary guns for the pilot primary fire of the MI8 Cargo.

  • Added grenade launcher for the co-pilot primary fire of the M18 Assault.

3rd person view for ground troops (use the F9 through F12 and C keys for views).

Plays my favorite song automatically when you turn on the tango. :)

Bombers have carpet bomb ability.

Many land/sea vehicles have speed/munitions increases.

Speed dependent on army and type of kit chosen.

Allied troops have new experimental weapons (NV have faster engineers, with more traps to compensate).

Some Engineers can lay more traps.

Magazine increase for almost all weapons.

Damage increase for some weapons.

New v.1 Experimental Weapons -

Flare Gun - Standard issue for all assault troops. Original game Devs already had it made but not working, took me a good few hours to get it working right.

Agent Orange - Explosive agent orange ammunitions for allied M19 (only included with allied recon and assault).
Works even when wet!

M16Se - Heavy ordnance sniper gun. Fires lethal 5 round burst of heavy explosive ammunitions. Carrier is very slow as drawback, but its the perfect anti- anything weapon.

M40 - Allied gun fires single round explosive munitions.

M19 - Automatic pistol.

M16 - Anti Aircraft nanoshells. A huge clip for this gun, it fires tiny nano-flak munitions with a big blast for aircraft.

Flamethrower - Thrown in last minute for good measure. This might give the NV a tiny bit of leverage. (at least in close combat)

Special Thanks to the BattleField community for their forums and files, and to all the other modders who came be4 me.

This is my first public released mod, and also my first ever for the Battlefield Series. It took three days to make version 1 and I hope you all enjoy it.

Plz! Do not steal my menu background movie or my music. These are things I made outside of this mod and may use in other projects.

Otherwise you can use anything else from this mod for your own mod if you want. Such as weapons, effects, etc.. Credit would be nice.
