Gamevictims.com hat ein Interview mit dem Leader des Coflict in Somalia Mods geführt. Dabei kam herraus, dass der CiS-Mod das Schadensystem, besonders im Bereich der Personen stark verändern will. So soll z.B. der Medic nurnoch einfache Verletzungen heilen können, nicht aber solche wie ein gebrochenes Bein. Jetzt werden sich einige von euch fragen, wie soll denn das Bein brechen? Und genau dort wird der CiS-Mod das Genre revolutionieren, denn wenn man z.B. von einem Wagen umgefahren wird, soll das einem nichtnur Lebensenergie abziehen, sondern auch das das jeweilige Körperteil behindern, also z.B. einen Beinbruch verursachen. Dieses wiederum macht den Spieler langsamer, eine aufwändige Sache also, lassen wir uns einfach mal überraschen.

GameVictims: How difficult has it been so far without the release of any official modding tools? Eric: Well their has been the good easy stuff like importing guns and then the hard stuff like fast roping down from Blackhawk?s.
GameVictims: In the mod you plan to accurately portray the weapons each side used. How will you compensate for Somalia?s lack of weaponry compared to the US troops? Eric: Well they start off in the city/villages; they already have a advantage there, defense. Another balancing issue is speed; the Somalians don?t have as much gear on as the US so they are faster and more agile.
GameVictims: One of the features of the mod is realistic damage modeling. Such that being shot in the leg will affect your speed and being shot in the arm will affect your aim. Are you trying to raise the realism bar by doing this?
Eric: We are going for 99.9% realism; if you were to get shot in the leg would you slow down? (Rhetorical Question

GameVictims: What gave you the idea for wanting this feature? Eric: Well, I was playing BF1942 and every time I would shoot someone their player would look like they lost accuracy but really they didn?t , so this made me think that it would be better if they lost speed and/or accuracy.
GameVictims: When medics heal you will you return to full speed/accurate aim? Eric: Yes, if you don?t have a major wound (like a broken leg , etc)
GameVictims: Does this mean that if you get shot and burst an artery, that you will gradually bleed to death if you don?t get medical attention? Eric: That?s correct!
