Die amerikanischen Kollegen von BF42.com hatten die Gelegenheit mit den Entwicklern der Galactic Conquest Mod ein kleines Interview zu führen. In diesem englischen Interview findet ihr hauptsächlich Fragen zum nächsten Release.

Interview:

As an initial question, what role(s) do each of you have on the Galactic Conquest team?

Thanks for inviting us to do the interview! As an introduction: I'm Scott Zier (SZier online), here with Gareth O'Neill (Preacher), Daniel Aston (Phantom) and Rob (MUHAHAHAHA online).

Scott> I'm a project director for Galactic Conquest, working on coordination and milestones. I do most of my daily work in coding, and the implementation of the resources our art team creates. I also do a good bit of mapping.

Gareth> I work as an artist, both 2D skins and 3D models, with some collisions mesh's, and exporting on the side. I'm the guy you go to if you need a Chair, table, or background element. I'm always up for a challenge, looking for stuff to improve my skills. I wouldn't say I was anywhere near the quality of our top modelers like Luuri, and Dirtylowmofo, but if you ever need a Chub stand then I'm your man.

Rob> My work on the team is usually focused on the menus, installers, and some scripting, but I am trying to learn skills in other areas to become more of an all-purpose kind of guy.

Daniel> I'm a mapper, I have several maps in development for the next release, and I've spent a good bit of time touching up older maps. I'm also improving my skills as a modeler.

What was the inspiration that led you to produce this modification?

Rob> Well, I started off as a big fan of the mod (as soon as I heard about it, I joined the forums, and started playing it online). Then I applied to become an alpha tester, and eventually became a developer after working to get the 0.1E version working and out the door to be compatible with BF 1.6. I'm a big Star Wars fan. Return of the Jedi was the first movie I remember seeing in the theatres when I was a kid, and I've always been a big fan of Star Wars games. I worked on some mods for Jedi Outcast, and wanted to continue working on SW mods.

Scott> The whole team is really passionate about making games. It's something many of us want to do as a career, and working with GC has been both incredibly fun, and very rewarding as a learning tool.
