Auf der offiziellen Battlefield 1942 Webseite wurde vor kurzem das zehnte Community Update veröffentlicht. In diesem erfahrt ihr neue Details zum bald erscheinenden Addon The Road To Rome. Des Weiteren berichtet EA in seinem zehneten Community Update über den Patch 1.3, der bald erscheinen soll. Ich bin ja mal gespannt!

Community Update #10

Maps:

  • Operation Husky - The Allies mount a beachhead assault against the Axis on the shores of Italy.
  • Operation Baytown - Steep roads and a river in the middle of the battlefield will make attacking the other side difficult for both forces.
  • Battle of Anzio ? Set on the bluffs of a river, troops on each side will have to keep their heads on a swivel as attacks can come from anywhere.

    Vehicles:

  • German Sturmgeschutz ? A new heavy tank
  • German BF110 ? A new medium bomber
  • German AT gun PAK 40 ? New stationary cannon
  • US M3 GMC ? A new halftrack with an anti-armor cannon mounted on top.

    New Map Details:

  • Battle of Salerno - Axis and Allied troops battle for high ground on this king of the hill conquest map. Both sides start with heavy amounts of armor and a couple of planes for air support. The key to winning this map is holding the capture point on the top of the mountain. This is more difficult than it sounds as this capture point does not double as a spawn point.
  • Monte Cassino - Allied forces must march uphill through a barrage of Axis artillery in order to win this assault map. For the Axis, holding the frontline and making sure no one breaks through is the key to victory. For the Allies it will take a coordinated rush to punch through the Axis Pak 40 cannons and artillery.
  • Monte Santa Croce - Axis and Allied forces start perilously close, divided by a thin river and shielded by steep hills. It may be tempting to begin lobbing shots into the enemy base, but victory lies in controlling the mountain. Both sides begin with a large number of armored units, 1 bomber and 1 fighter plane. The top of the mountain holds vehicles and AA guns for whoever controls it.

    New Vehicle Details:

  • US M3 Grant - A medium tank, with two main guns, a 37mm swivel turret, and a front-mounted 75mm cannon. Quicker than the Sherman, but with less armor, this is one deadly tank in the hands of ?hit and run? style players.
  • British Mosquito ? This medium bomber is capable of carrying and releasing 4,000 lbs of explosives over the battlefield. This plane can be a lifesaver, or a nightmare depending on what team you?re on when you see it cruise across the map, wreaking havoc in its path.
  • British AT Gun 25 Pounder ? A stationary cannon that fires 12 25 lb shells a minute with devastating force. Perfect for defending a hill, but you?ll want to keep a wrench handy ? this gun doesn?t take much punishment.
  • Italian M11-39 Carro Armato ? Italy?s most modern tank at the time of its debut in 1939, this tank features great mobility combined with a protected secondary AA position helps keep those bomber planes at bay.

    New Hand Weapon Details:

  • Italian Breda Model 30 Assault Rifle ? This rifle is very unique in appearance with a strangely hinged magazine. It features a clip of powerful 6.5 mm rounds, and while the clips are smaller than other rifles, the Breda makes up for that in the hands of a capable soldier.
  • British Sten Machinegun ? Over four million Stens were supplied to the British army during the course of WWII. The weapon was also infamous for its tendency to sometimes jam during a firefight.
  • Bayonet (Engineer rifle only) ? What could easily become The Road to Rome's fan favorite addition, this bayonet rifle is deadly. It may not be as practical as shooting your enemy, but if it gets the job done, who cares? And if you thought knife kills were impressive, try sneaking up on someone with this bad boy! It?s truly a rewarding experience.

"And now for the big news... Everyone on the Battlefield team at DICE and EA has been working late nights on another surprise for the community. We?d like to take this time to announce the Battlefield 1942 1.3 patch ? it?s coming soon, maybe even sooner than you think! Look for more details about the patch soon, for now here?s a sneak peek: Implemented TK solution: On the server-side you can implement various TK-solutions such as a Spawn Delay penalty (puts them into spawn limbo) or the simple Kick/Ban. On the client-side you'll be able to Forgive or Punish TK depending on how the server is set up. Client performance optimization Map-loading optimized Improved interface for in-game voting In addition, the 1.3 patch will allow Road to Rome users to play on original BF1942 servers. You will still need to own RtR in order to play on the new maps included in the expansion pack."
