Ist BF/BF2 auf Linux spielbar oder wird das möglich sein?

Wenn ich an das kommende Vista denke, denke ich auch gleichzeitig über die Alternative Linux nach um nicht wieder MS zwangsverpflichtet zu werden.

Battlefield 2



    * This game must be installed in WinXP mode. To switch modes go to Advanced tab of the Cedega install dialog, select options and choose Winver winxp.

    * Users MUST choose to accept the installation of DirectX 9.0C to play this game. Please carefully read the associated EULA and only accept if you meet all DirectX license requirements.

    * You must have X set to 24 bit depth to play Battlefield 2.

    * NVIDIA users will require driver version at least 7676. This game may not work with other video cards.

    * Currently only low-detail mode is supported, although users with high-end graphics cards may be able to use some higher settings.

    * Multiplayer play will not work on Punkbuster enabled servers.

    * This game requires a configuration profile created by Cedega 5.0 or later to run. These profiles enable FBO, Pixel Shaders 1.4 and WinXP mode by default for this title.

    * Users may experience the occasional error message when quitting Battlefield 2 complaining that the game is unable to unload a DLL. You may ignore this error or use the Stop button in Cedega to bypass this error.

    * This game will not work on an ATI graphics card.



Battlefield 2: Special Forces



    * This expansion needs to be installed in WinXP mode and must be be installed in the same ``Program Title'' as Battlefield 2.

    * The installer may exit after patching the first time it is run. Running the installer a second time should install successfully.

    * The 1.12 patch should be installed after the Special Forces patch is applied. If you had it installed beforehand, it is recommended to reinstall Battlefield 2 before installing the expansion pack.

    * The NVidia 81.74 drivers are highly recommended for this expansion. Using the 7676 (or earlier) drivers may result in crashes or graphical corruption.

    * To launch the Special Forces expansion, the following command line options must be added to your Battlefield 2 configuration profile:



        +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +modPath mods/xpack +ignoreAsserts 1



      Note that in order to launch the original game again, you will need to remove these options. You cannot simply create a separate configuration profile for the expansion because profiles are currently keyed to the the executable name, and since BF2 and BF2:SF use the executable (BF2.exe), it will use the same profile for both.
