Wrestler and Family Found Dead

Chris Benoit, along with his family, were found dead in their home.

June 25, 2007 - WWE's website has posted the strange and shocking news that wrestler Chris Benoit has been found dead, along with his wife and son. There are no more details available at this time, except that local authorities are investigating the Benoit home. Benoit had called in sick to last night's Pay-Per-View event for unknown reasons.

Tonight's presentation of WWE RAW on USA will be a tribute to Chris Benoit and his family.

UPDATE: Various news sources, as well as WWE.com, are now reporting that the deaths of Benoit, his wife Nancy and son Daniel, were the result of a double murder-suicide from within the home.

UPDATE #2: Investigators currently believe that Benoit killed his wife and seven-year-old son over the weekend, and then himself sometime Monday. The bodies were found by authorities on Monday afternoon in three different rooms of the Benoit family's Fayetteville, Georgia, home. Fayette County District Attorney Scott Ballard told the Associated Press that a gun was not used in any of the deaths, but declined to say how the three died. "We're pretty sure we know, but we want to confirm it with the crime lab," Ballard said early Tuesday, June 26.
