ich hab ne frage , ich will mir eine USB 2.0 karte einbauen... also aufn pci slot, und nun möcht ich mal gerne wissen ob ich das auf das board machen kann? dh. unterstützt das board usb 2.0 überhaupt? wenn jemand ahnung davon hat , und mir sagen kann ob das geht , dann wär ich dem sehr dankbar !!

Wie Jonez schon sagte, sollte dein Board schon USB2.0 Anschlüsse besitzen, wozu dann noche eine PCI-Karte für USB?

Edit: Vllt ist ja nur das Gerät was du anschließt USB1.0 !?

Geh mal in den Gerätemanager und schau ob dort bei den USB Hubs gelbe Fragezeichen sind. Wenn ja versuch mal dafür die Treiber zu installieren über die automatische Suche. So ist das bei mir auch immer ich muss das manuell machen.

Mit USB 2.0 schaffst du maximal 60MB die Sekunde. Bei 1.0/1.1 um die 200kB. Den Unterschied sollte man also schon merken. Wäre ganz gut, wenn du mal nachschauen könntest, was fürn Mainboard du hast... Everest erkennst das nämlich nicht. Hersteller und Bezeichnung steht i.d.R. zwischen den PCI Slots. Falls es kein USB 2.0 Protokoll unterstützt, wäre eine PCI-USB2.0-Karte ganz gut. Aber wie gesagt: Du brauchst min. Service Pack 1 für USB 2.0.

Dein Rechner hat definitiv einen USB2.0-Controller auf dem Mainboard.

Solltest du ein USB2.0-Gerät (also deine externe Festplatte) anschließen, obwohl der Rechner keine USB2.0-Funktionalität bietet (Treiberproblem, alter Controller, Betriebssystem veraltet), wirst du ab Windows XP (egal welches SP) darauf hingewiesen.

Wenn keine Meldung erscheint, funktioniert die Verbindung im USB2.0-..."Modus" nenne ich es jetzt mal... einwandfrei.

Ich gehe mal davon aus, dass du dir entweder zu viel von USB erhofft hast, was die Übertragungsgeschwindigkeit angeht, oder der Controller der externen Platte ist einfach ein billiges noname-Teil, das bei der Umsetzung von SATA/PATA zu USB ganz einfach nicht mehr hinterher kommt.
