Forgot to add, how do I contribute? 😃

I couldn't find a suitable place to post this, so ended up choosing Help. Maybe an admin could move this to the appropriate place if possible? Firstly I'd like to thank the community for keeping this and all of the early Battlefield games alive. I first played BF1942 via one of those demos you got on computer magazines back in the early noughties. The following day I went into the City centre (Manchester) and bought the full game as it blew me away. Being able to use vehicles, fly planes etc was new to me. I've followed the Battlefield franchise ever since, much preferring it to the Call of Duty games; however, my favorites are the first three games, all of which I still play occasionally, though Battlefield Vietnam is my favourite as my formative years were in the middle and end of the Americans involvement in Vietnam, so I saw lots of news about the conflict. Anyway, I had a hankering to play one of my favorite Battlefield 1942 maps 'The Eagles Nest' the other week after playing some BF2 and BFV, so reinstalled my hard copy and the expansions. (I have two copies of the disk version plus one on EA's app, and now discovered you can get the whole lot for fee via abandonware sites). Over the last few days I've been downloading as many BF1942 maps as I could find. I'm trying to persuade a few friends to get into the game as I love the fact that there are still servers out there hosting this amazing game. I'd love to see a reskin of this beautiful game Anyway, after downloading quite a few from the German GAU site and finding a lot offline, but managing to get those from Filefront, I felt I should donate to the site to help out a little. I've downloaded many files from this site over many years going back almost 20 years, so feel it's about time I contributed something; especially now that I'm retired and have enough disposable income to enjoy life. Nein Nein Nein Ich liebe Metro... die Bücher sowohl als auch die Spiele... für mich mit die besten SP Games, aber VR ist halt einfach nicht meins... also Alyx war cool und hab auch ein bisschen Gameplay von dem METRO VR Game gesehen, aber zu teuer in der Anschaffung weiterhin für die wenigen guten Games (also in die richtung wie HL: Alyx usw.)... normales Metro Game büdde. (Hatte mir für HL Alyx ne VR Brille ausgeliehen)

Moin, unser Forum ist inzwischen leider auch nicht mehr so ganz aktiv und gerade bei den neueren Teilen, sind viele hier nicht mehr mit am Start. Falls dir aber jemand helfen möchte, wäre es schön wenn du einfach nochmal deine komplette Hardware auflistest. Grafikkarte, CPU, RAM, etc.

Moin zusammen! Ich bin jetzt schon seit BF2-Zeiten dabei (Strike at Karkand war quasi mein zweites Zuhause), aber Battlefield 2042 stellt mein aktuelles System doch vor ganz neue Herausforderungen. Ich habe mich letztens mal wieder in die 128-Spieler-Conquest-Runden gestürzt und muss sagen, dass die CPU-Last echt heftig ist, wenn es auf den Karten richtig zur Sache geht. Ein spezifischer Punkt, der mir in vielen Foren aufgefallen ist, sind die Performance-Einbrüche bei extrem hoher Spieler-Dichte. Ich überlege gerade, ob mein etwas in die Jahre gekommenes Netzteil da eventuell an seine Grenzen kommt. Ich nutze aktuell ein altes, aber extrem stabiles 580-Watt Server-Netzteil (580-Watt), das ich mal für ein Workstation-Projekt günstig geschossen habe. Da die modernen Grafikkarten und CPUs bei 2042 ja ordentlich Lastspitzen ziehen, frage ich mich, ob die 580 Watt noch ausreichen, um das System stabil zu halten, wenn die Action gerade so richtig explodiert und die Effekte den Bildschirm füllen. Eigentlich liebe ich das Chaos bei 2042, aber wenn das Bild kurzzeitig stockt, weil das System vielleicht bei den Spannungsspitzen nicht ganz hinterherkommt, ist der Spielspaß natürlich weg. Ich habe schon versucht, die Details ein wenig runterzuschrauben, aber die CPU-Spikes bleiben bestehen. Hat hier jemand Erfahrung mit ähnlichen "Grenzfällen" beim Stromverbrauch? Mich würde mal interessieren, ob ihr eher auf massive Watt-Zahlen setzt oder ob ein hochwertiges 580-Watt-Gerät eigentlich noch genügen sollte, solange man keine absolute High-End-Karte befeuert. Glaubt ihr, dass die Ruckler eher an der Spiel-Optimierung liegen, oder ist es an der Zeit, das treue alte Netzteil doch mal in Rente zu schicken?
