Hi, I have always loved Battlefield 2. In fact the first three battlefield games are amongst my all time favorite games and I every so often reinstall them when I get the urge. Recently I lost one of my Hard drives to a serious crash, which destroyed the database of all my Battlefield mods and maps. Thankfully, all of those I always backed up on CD's and DVD's. Over the past several weeks I've been adding my backups to the database and finally got to all my Battlefield back ups. Unfortunately, some of the disks appear to have degraded as I can't download certain files that I was after; namely, The Merc's v11 mod and the Merc's Hells Ravine map. (not caliban55's Hells Canyon) If anyone has a back up of those two files I would be eternally grateful. I was one of Hayabusa's mod and map tester's. The reason I'm after the v11 mod is that one of Hayabusa's compatriots Andremino (aka MadOsga) who later went on to create the Marines mod, created an add-on mod that works with the Merc's v11 mod, but none of the other versions. The mod allowed certain static objects such as trees and a few buildings to be destroyed, leaving smoking ruins. This really added to the feel of the mod, especially The Darks maps. Sadly during testing of the mod for the multiplayer part of the game, Adremino's wife passed away suddenly and he stopped working on the mod, but the single player part of the mod worked perfectly. Regarding The Dark, I tested all of his maps as his αlpha and βeta tester and still have his last map that we were still testing when he suddenly up sticks and disappeared from the community. We were finalising the testing of a particular map, with just a small adjustment to a small section of the maps nav mesh and it would then be ready for final release, but it never happened. Whether it was a fall out between one of the newer Beta testers, who criticized The Darks map, which I remember really upsetting him, or his impending finals at university, I really do not know the reason, but he did disappear. With his web site closing withing several days and trying to email him landed on deaf ears. I'm still adding to my database, with over 100 DVD's with Battlefield 2 mods, and maps stored, so i may come across other stuff that's inaccessible. Thankfully most of what's been lost on the corrupted disks I've been able to source from here and other sites that still host Battlefield 2 files. Regards Whiterabbit01 p.s. If any ex members of the Mercenaries, Marines or MCC mod's see this, please do get in touch, in particular Homegrown, Hayabusa, MadOsga & Rono Also mappers such as Shane John, Ray Clovis, BigFoot, & BeerPizzaChips (who moved from Germany to Australia about 18 years ago.

jo und da kommt eben eve frontier ins spiel. Tribes = corps, nur eben mit viel mehr sandbox und größerem universum, weniger point und click. Tribes können sogar ihre eigene Regierungsformen und Währungen entwickeln.

Thank you for keeping Battlefield 1942, BFV & BF2 Alive
Whiterabbit01 erstellte Thema in BF1942 Help
I couldn't find a suitable place to post this, so ended up choosing Help. Maybe an admin could move this to the appropriate place if possible? Firstly I'd like to thank the community for keeping this and all of the early Battlefield games alive. I first played BF1942 via one of those demos you got on computer magazines back in the early noughties. The following day I went into the City centre (Manchester) and bought the full game as it blew me away. Being able to use vehicles, fly planes etc was new to me. I've followed the Battlefield franchise ever since, much preferring it to the Call of Duty games; however, my favorites are the first three games, all of which I still play occasionally, though Battlefield Vietnam is my favourite as my formative years were in the middle and end of the Americans involvement in Vietnam, so I saw lots of news about the conflict. Anyway, I had a hankering to play one of my favorite Battlefield 1942 maps 'The Eagles Nest' the other week after playing some BF2 and BFV, so reinstalled my hard copy and the expansions. (I have two copies of the disk version plus one on EA's app, and now discovered you can get the whole lot for fee via abandonware sites). Over the last few days I've been downloading as many BF1942 maps as I could find. I'm trying to persuade a few friends to get into the game as I love the fact that there are still servers out there hosting this amazing game. I'd love to see a reskin of this beautiful game Anyway, after downloading quite a few from the German GAU site and finding a lot offline, but managing to get those from Filefront, I felt I should donate to the site to help out a little. I've downloaded many files from this site over many years going back almost 20 years, so feel it's about time I contributed something; especially now that I'm retired and have enough disposable income to enjoy life.
